Privacy Policy
Your data stays yours. Always.
1. What We Collect
We collect only the information necessary to provide legal services. This includes your name, contact details, and any information you provide in the course of our engagement. We do not collect data through tracking cookies, analytics, or third-party surveillance tools.
2. How We Use Your Information
Your information is used solely for:
- Providing the legal services you have engaged us for
- Communicating with you about your matter
- Complying with our professional and regulatory obligations
- Billing and payment processing
3. Data Storage and Security
Client data is stored on secure, encrypted systems. We use infrastructure that keeps data within Canadian borders where possible. Access to client data is restricted to the lawyers and staff working on your matter. We do not store client data on third-party AI platforms or cloud services without your explicit consent.
4. Data Retention
We retain client files for the period required by the Law Society of Ontario (minimum 10 years from the date the file is closed). After this period, files are securely destroyed unless you request otherwise.
5. Your Rights
Under Ontario law, you have the right to:
- Access your personal information held by us
- Request correction of inaccurate information
- Request deletion of your information (subject to our regulatory retention obligations)
- Withdraw consent for data processing (subject to our ability to continue providing services)
6. Third-Party Services
We may use third-party services for scheduling, billing, or document management. These services are selected based on their privacy practices and data security. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.
7. AI and Automation
We may use AI-assisted tools in our practice. When we do, client data is processed within our own infrastructure — not sent to external AI providers. Our agentic systems are designed with privacy as an architectural requirement, not a policy statement.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated to active clients. Continued use of our services after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
